What We Learned Along the Way
Three founders, one simple observation. People were tired of shopping.
Back in 2019, we noticed something obvious once you see it. Amsterdam's got tons of clothing shops, but finding affordable basics that don't fall apart? Finding shoes that work for actual commuting, not just Instagram? That wasn't happening. We'd talk to friends, coworkers, people at the tram stop — same complaint over and over. They'd settle for whatever was available, then complain about it later.
So we started small. We didn't build faconzen B.V. to be fancy. We built it to be useful. We focused on quality basics — cotton tees that survive washing, jeans that fit real bodies, sneakers you can actually walk in all day. We sourced from manufacturers who weren't charging designer markup for decent products. We listened when customers said "I need this in a different color" or "This material doesn't work for me."
It wasn't revolutionary, but it worked. People started coming back. Not because we were the cheapest (though we're affordable), but because we got it. We understood that you don't want to spend an hour finding a grey t-shirt. You want one that fits, feels good, lasts, and doesn't cost a week's groceries.
Now we've got hundreds of regular customers across Amsterdam. People who know they can trust what they're buying. That's what we're most proud of — not the size of our inventory, but the fact that you'll actually wear what you buy from us.
